Brown Announces More Than $328,000 in Federal Funds to Improve Airport in Union County

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded $328,380 to the Union County Airport Authority and Union County Board of Commissioners for upgrades to the Union County Airport.

“The Union County Airport supports tourism and commerce in Union County,” Brown said. “This funding will improve the safety and efficiency of the airport so it can remain a reliable option for the county.”

This grant to the Union County Airport will go toward the acquisition of land for development to allow the airport to control compatible land use and to protect the airport from objects that would penetrate aeronautical surfaces.
