Brown Announces More Than $5.2 Million for Ohio Rural Emergency First Responder, Community Projects

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that Ohio will receive $5,216,000 for essential emergency service and community facility projects. The funds were made available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and will be released through the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

“These funds invest in Ohio’s rural communities to ensure that they have the resources they need for critical safety services,” Brown said. “By supporting the efforts of first responders and community organizations, this investment not only improves public safety, but will also protect jobs.”

Ohio’s rural community facility projects are part of 280 projects that will be taking place nationwide. More information on these recovery funds and others made available through the USDA can be found here.
