WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced $541,667 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for Rocking Horse Center, a community health center in Springfield. Brown also announced $379,167 for Health Partners of Western Ohio, a community health center headquartered in Lima that serves Clark County through the New Carlisle Community Health Center.

“Funding for community health centers supports some of our most vulnerable Ohioans who rely on local health centers as their primary source of medical care,” said Brown. “These new awards will give more centers the ability to expand and continue the critical care they provide across our state.”

The funding was made available through the health law, which boosted funding for community health centers’ primary and preventive care services. The Health Center New Access Point (NAP) program provides grants to new and existing health centers to increase access to health care services across the county.

Ohio received $7,238,119 total which will serve an estimated 43,461 patients. The award recipients are listed below.
