WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that the Federal Aviation Administration has awarded an additional $80,497 to the Ross County Airport to upgrade and extend its taxiway.  The new funding will be combined with the original $703,386 grant to cover all project costs.

“A strong transportation infrastructure encourages economic development and helps Ohio’s communities thrive,” Brown said.  “This funding will provide the aviation enthusiasts, small business owners, and other residents of Ross County with a safe, modern facility that will serve them for years to come.”

The improvement project will upgrade the current taxiway surface, change its design to meet current standards, and remove trees and homes to extend the taxiway.

The Ross County Airport is a publicly owned facility on 340 acres near Chillicothe, Ohio.
