WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that $548,644 has been awarded to the Fairfield County Airport Authority and Fairfield County Commissioners by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The federal funds will be used to acquire land for future airport development, install perimeter fencing, and to rehabilitate the runway at Fairfield Country Airport in Lancaster.
“This is great news for Fairfield County,” Brown said. “These improvements will enhance the capacity of Fairfield County Airport. These federal dollars will go a long way in sustaining travel in and out of the airport for area residents and businesses.”
Fairfield County Airport is a general aviation airport associated with Lancaster.
