WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that $210,600 has been awarded to the City of Marion by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The federal funds will be used to rehabilitate a runway and improve rainwater drainage at the airport.

“This is great news for Marion County,” Brown said. “These improvements will enhance the capacity of the Marion Municipal Airport and allow the runway to meet the operational needs of the airport.  These federal dollars will go a long way in sustaining travel in and out of the airport for area residents and businesses.”

Marion Municipal Airport is a general aviation airport associated with Marion.
