WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded  $180,000 to the City of Dayton to create a Sustainability Master Plan for the Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport.

“This is great news for Montgomery County,” Brown said. “These improvements will reduce the environmental impact and help improve the economic benefits of the Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport. These federal dollars will go a long way in sustaining safe travel in and out of the airport for area residents and businesses.”

This competitive federal grant will be used to create an airport sustainability plan, establishing sustainability goals and tracking strategies.  The goals of this initiative are to reduce the environmental impact, realize the economic benefits, and improve the community relations of the airport.  Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport is a reliever airport associated with Dayton.
