WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that $90,885 has been awarded to the Scioto County Airport Authority and County Commissioners by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The federal funds will be used to improve airport drainage, install perimeter fencing, and remove tree obstruction at the Greater Portsmouth Regional Airport.

“This is great news for Scioto County,” Brown said. “These improvements will enhance the capacity of the Greater Portsmouth Regional Airport.  These federal dollars will go a long way in sustaining travel in and out of the airport for area residents and businesses.”

Greater Portsmouth Regional Airport is a general aviation airport located ten miles northeast of Portsmouth.
