WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that $180,246 has been awarded to the Van Wert County Regional Airport Authority & County of Van Wert by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The federal funds will be used to remove tree obstructions on two runway approaches and install a replacement runway vertical/visual guidance system.

“This is great news for Van Wert County,” Brown said. “These improvements will allow the runway to meet the operational needs of the airport. These federal dollars will go a long way in sustaining travel in and out of the airport for area residents and businesses.”
