WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that $1,143,414 has been awarded to the Columbus Regional Airport Authority by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The federal funds will be used to acquire snow removal equipment at Rickenbacker International Airport in Columbus.

“Ohio-based businesses, visitors, and members of the Armed Forces depend on safe and efficient operations at the Rickenbacker International Airport,” Brown said. “This funding will ensure that flights departing from and arriving to Franklin County have safe and reliable runways and infrastructure in all weather conditions.”

Rickenbacker International Airport, located in Columbus, is a joint civil-military public airport.
