WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that two Ottawa County airports have received federal funding for airport improvements. The Put-in-Bay Township Port Authority has been awarded $87,300 by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the Erie-Ottawa Regional Airport Authority has been awarded $1,745,000 by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s FAA. Put-in-Bay Airport will use the federal funds to construct and rehabilitate taxiways, and rehabilitate the apron. Carl R Keller Field Airport in Port Clinton will use the funds to rehabilitate the runway and the taxiway.
“This is great news for Ottawa County,” Brown said. “These improvements will enhance the capacity of the Put-in-Bay Airport and the Carl R Keller Field Airport. These federal dollars will go a long way in sustaining travel in and out of the airport for area residents and businesses.”
