WASHINGTON, D.C. – New federal resources will help bolster two small businesses in Guernsey County. U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the Ohio Bridge Corporation and C-Z Company will receive a business and industry guaranteed loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development to refinance debt in order to improve access to capital and obtain better rates and terms. The financial assistance is expected to save 130 jobs.

“Small businesses rely on access to capital to expand business operations and create new jobs,” Brown said. “The Ohio Bridge Corporation and C-Z Company will be able to use these resources to improve Ohio’s infrastructure and save an estimated 130 jobs in Guernsey County.”

USDA Rural Development has approved a business and industry guaranteed loan of $4,300,000.

Brown, Chair of the Subcommittee on Jobs, Rural Economic Growth, and Energy Innovation, has held more than 200 roundtables throughout the state, and is the first Ohioan to serve on both the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry and the Senate Appropriations Agriculture Subcommittee.
