WASHINGTON, D.C. – New resources will provide for the maintenance of roads in Pike County. U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that Marion Township will receive a grant and loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development to purchase new equipment to repair roads in the township.

“Ohioans rely on a sound transportation infrastructure to move goods and services and travel to their destinations,” Brown said. “These new resources will help Marion Township make the repairs needed to keep moving Ohioans and Ohio-made goods along safe federal highways.”

USDA Rural Development has approved a $52,000 loan and a $28,000 grant to Marion Township.

Brown, Chair of the Subcommittee on Jobs, Rural Economic Growth, and Energy Innovation, has held more 170 roundtables throughout the state, and is the first Ohioan to serve on both the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry and the Senate Appropriations Agriculture Subcommittee.
