WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) released the following statement today regarding the news that General Motors plans to add hundreds of new jobs at its transmission facility in Toledo.
“The American auto industry is back, and Ohio facilities are on the frontlines of this resurgence. The news that General Motors plans to add hundreds of new jobs in Toledo is a sign of the company’s renewed strength as well as a testimonial to our state’s experienced and skilled auto workers,” Brown said. “Thanks to President Obama and Congress investing in the auto industry, hundreds of Ohioans will be put back to work in good-paying, middle-class jobs, making cars that consumers want to buy. I applaud General Motors for investing in northwest Ohio and look forward to our continued work together.”
