CLEVELAND, OH –Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) applauded Kevin Love for honoring the Dignity of Work and donating $100,000 to help Cleveland Cavaliers staff after the NBA suspended its season in light of concerns due to Coronavirus. Following Love’s announcement, the Cavaliers pledged to keep paying staff during the suspension.
“Kevin Love showed Ohio and the nation what the Dignity of Work is all about – respecting and honoring workers and understanding that it’s the workers behind the scenes that drive the success of any organization. Following Kevin’s example, Cavs leadership is doing the right thing by paying its employees for the remainder of the season. Kevin’s donation is emblematic of the generosity of all Ohioans and is the kind of uplifting story we could all use right now. I encourage other teams, organizations and businesses to follow the Cavs’ lead and ensure their employees are receiving the pay and benefits they have earned,” said Brown.
