WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today applauded the nomination of former Ohio schools superintendent Deb Delisle to serve as the Assistant Secretary of Education for Elementary and Secondary Education.

“Deb is a remarkable public servant who will be a tremendous asset to Secretary Arne Duncan and his team at the Department of Education,” Brown said. “First as superintendent at the Cleveland Heights-University Heights school district and then as Ohio’s State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Deb has demonstrated a deep commitment to Ohio’s students, families, and teachers. Deb will join the ranks of the many Ohioans, including Rich Cordray and Jay Williams, who serve in the Administration with distinction.”
