WASHINGTON, D.C. –U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today applauded the announcement of a partnership between American Greetings and Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald aimed at bringing a new tenant to the Brooklyn facility.

“I applaud the commitments made by American Greetings and County Executive Ed FitzGerald to find a new tenant that will bring new jobs and revenue to the City of Brooklyn,” Brown said. “While I am pleased that American Greetings has decided to remain in northeast Ohio, the Brooklyn community will no doubt be impacted by the company’s decision to relocate to Crocker Park. I stand ready to assist to help ensure that the site will continue to serve as an economic generator for Brooklyn.”

In February, while American Greetings was in final considerations for a headquarters location, Brown sent a letter to CEO Zev Weiss urging him to consider the loyal Ohio workers that have contributed to the success of the company.
