HAMILTON, OH – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) – ranking member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs – attended the ribbon cutting for Barclaycard US’ new customer contact center in Hamilton today.

“It’s great to be here today to celebrate the opening of Barclaycard’s call center and the jobs it’s bringing to Hamilton,” Brown said. “Barclaycard’s investment in Hamilton underscores this region’s economic vitality and the strength of Ohio’s workforce. These are full-time jobs with good pay and benefits —the sort of jobs that help attract more families to the area, and grow a strong middle class. Barclaycard recognizes that Greater Cincinnati's workforce has the talent to grow the company’s business and meet its customers’ needs. I look forward to working with business leaders, local officials, and community members to continue creating new jobs in Ohio.”

Located in the Vora Technology Park, the center currently employs 50 workers, with plans to hire 250 employees by the end of 2016 and up to 1,500 employees once the facility is fully operational. Barclaycard US has announced that it plans to provide employees with benefits including health and dental insurance, vision coverage, and a retirement plan.
