Brown, Boxer Announce Rematch of Their Friendly Wager on The NBA Finals Between The Cleveland Cavaliers and The Golden State Warriors

Senator Boxer Won the Original Wager Between The Two Colleagues When The Warriors Prevailed In Six Games

WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Sens. Sherrod Brown (D-Cavaliers) and Barbara Boxer (D-Warriors) made a bet yesterday on the outcome of the 2016 NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors. If the Warriors win, Senator Brown will bring beer from the Platform Brewing Company to Boxer’s office. If the Cavaliers prevail, Senator Boxer will deliver beer from the 21st Amendment Brewery in the Bay Area to Senator Brown’s office.

Clevelanders and Cavs fans across Ohio can’t wait to see our long awaited rematch against the Warriors,” said Brown. “This time the Cavs are healthy and have the talent to go all the way, and when the final buzzer sounds the Warriors will remember that Cleveland is ALL IN.”

“This has been a season for the ages for the Warriors, after an NBA record 73 wins and an epic comeback against Senator Inhofe’s Oklahoma City Thunder,” Boxer said. “I look forward to welcoming Senator Brown in his blue and gold best back to our office to toast another championship for an incredible team that embodies the term, ‘Strength In Numbers’!”

Brown and Boxer made the bet over Twitter yesterday, after a similar bet during last year’s NBA Finals. A photo of that exchange can be found here.
