CLEVELAND, OH —U.S. Sen Sherrod Brown (D-OH) issued the following statement today urging all sides to come to the bargaining table to avoid a Greater Dayton RTA strike, which could take effect as soon as Monday. Greater Dayton RTA serves approximately 30,000 daily riders.

"No one wants to see transit disruptions hurt workers, students, disabled riders and local businesses. We owe it to riders, taxpayers and the entire Miami Valley to do everything possible to avoid a strike. I hope all sides will come to the bargaining table ready to reach a fair agreement to keep workers on the job and local transit moving for the Miami Valley."

The union and RTA are scheduled to continue talks Sunday ahead of a potential Monday strike.
