WASHINGTON, D.C. – In response to Battelle Memorial Institute’s announcement to halt a carbon dioxide sequestration project in Darke County, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today issued the following statement:

“After working closely with both Battelle and residents of Darke County, I am pleased by Battelle's decision to respond to the citizens’ request. Although operations have been terminated in Greenville, I'm confident in Battelle's investment in our state and am committed to helping Battelle secure an appropriate project site. Finding a workable means of carbon dioxide sequestration is vital for Ohio’s economy and environment.”
