WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the United States Economic Development Administration (EDA) has awarded $750,000 to support the Center for Advanced Air Mobility Initiative (CAAM-I) in Cuyahoga County. The funding will go toward increasing the level of support resources in Northeast Ohio for established small minority business enterprises. The project activities will bring new technologies to market, grow manufacturers and provide consulting services, including technical resources and project management to manufacturers.

“Ohio workers can compete with anyone in the world, and this investment will help ensure businesses in Cuyahoga County will have the resources they need to remain competitive,” said Brown. “I’m glad to see the strength of Ohio workers is being recognized.”

The EDA’s grant to CAAM-I will increase revenue generated by small minority businesses, provide new contract opportunities by company participants, increase the number of small business partnerships in identified industries and government, and create jobs.

EDA grants are awarded through a competitive process based upon the application’s merit, the applicant’s eligibility, and the availability of funds. More information on EDA’s grant process and investment process can be found at www.eda.gov.
