CLEVELAND, OH – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), along with several northeast Ohio business and community partners, will host the fifth annual “Women’s Leadership Summit: Asserting Your Power” at Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland on Saturday, Oct. 5th. The one-day program will shine a light on the good work women are doing in northeast Ohio.
“For the past four years, we’ve hosted the Women’s Leadership Summit throughout the state, showcasing Ohioans doing important work to make our communities and our state better,” said Brown “I’m looking forward to our fifth conference this year in Cleveland, bringing participants together to learn more about the inspiring ways local leaders are helping Ohio grow and thrive.”
“Our country will never reach its full potential as long as archaic thinking and outdated policy keep making it so much harder for women to gain seats at the leadership table,” Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) said. “From Washington to the Midwest, Senator Sherrod Brown and Connie Schultz have been leaders in the fight to ensure that no glass ceiling holds any woman down. I’m so grateful for their work and honored to join them at this year’s Women’s Leadership Summit.”
Regional partners for the event include Communications Workers of America, North Shore AFL-CIO, GOJO, Ohio Building Trades, the George Gund Foundation, Kent State University, Cleveland State University, PNC Bank, MetroHealth, Ariel Ventures, LLC, First Federal Lakewood, Cuyahoga County, Cuyahoga County Community College, Collective Spaces Design Works, the Cleveland Clinic, and Jumpstart.
Every year, Brown hosts a women’s leadership summit in Ohio. Last year, Brown hosted the summit: “Together We Rise” in Cincinnati.
