Brown meets with Akron/Summit Convention and Visitors Bureau President

L-R: Gregg Mervis, Sen. Sherrod Brown, and Patrick Crow

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) met with the Akron/Summit Convention and Visitor Bureau President, Gregg Mervis, of Akron. Mervis met with Brown during his weekly coffee with constituents while vising Washington, D.C.

“It was an honor to meet with Gregg,” said Brown. His dedication to growing Ohio’s communities will bring new investments to our towns and attract visitors.”

Mervis is working on the preservation of the Woodward Opera House in Mt. Vernon. The project is financed in part using the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC), which helps revitalize Ohio communities. Brown helped secure a five-year extension of the NMTC in the year-end tax bill in December so Ohio communities can continue use the credit to invest in low-income areas.
