WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) met with Ohio representatives of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, including Rev. David Hoffman of Marion. The group met with Brown at his weekly coffee with constituents while in Washington, D.C. to advocate for increased funding for medical research.
“It was an honor to meet with Rev. Hoffman,” said Brown. “His advocacy is a reminder that we must continue to invest in medical research and funding as we work to treat, and ultimately cure, cystic fibrosis.”
Brown continues to champion increased funding for medical research. In 2015, Brown worked with colleagues to introduce two bills that would increase federal investment in medical research and innovation. The Medical Innovation Act and American Cures Act directs additional funding to the NIH and other federally-run or federally-supported research institutions
