WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) secured a $29 million investment to expand Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Brown secured these funds as part of the Military Construction Appropriations Bill expected to pass the Senate this evening.  The bill must now be reconciled with the U.S. House bill before becoming law. Brown will keep fighting for these funds as the process moves forward.

“Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery serves as a memorial to Ohio’s heroes,” said Brown. “This funding will ensure that Northeast Ohio veterans have the final resting place they have earned and deserve.”

Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery is the second national cemetery built in Ohio and the 119th in the national cemetery system. It serves as a resting place for veterans and their families.
