WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) – ranking member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs slammed Acting Director Mick Mulvaney’s reported decision to disband the CFPB’s Consumer Advisory Board. The advisory board is a statutorily required panel of 25 consumer advocates and experts that help inform the CFPB about emerging consumer practices, products and trends as well as share consumer focused analysis and recommendations.

“Mulvaney has proven once again he would rather cozy up with payday lenders and industry insiders than listen to consumer advocates who want to make sure hardworking Americans are not cheated by financial scams.”
