WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) – ranking member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs – today released the following statement regarding Britain’s vote to leave the European Union.

“Britain's vote to leave the European Union is unfortunate but I respect the voters' decision. We must continue America’s strong relationships with the U.K. and the European Union, and watch closely as economic events unfold over the next few days and weeks. The economic uncertainty around the world provides yet another reminder of the importance of a strong and resilient financial sector here at home,” Brown said.
