WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) released the following statement in light of ongoing protests in Nigeria calling to end the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS):

“Everyone should have the right to peacefully protest injustice and police reform whether you live in Dayton, Washington, or Lagos. The Nigerian government must put an end to this violent response, and listen to the concerns raised by the protestors so that there can be a peaceful resolution to the unrest.”
