Brown Statement on Department of Justice Investigation into Shooting of John Crawford III

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Following today’s announcement by the Department of Justice (DOJ) that it will conduct an independent review of the shooting of John Crawford III in a Beavercreek Wal-Mart, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) issued the following statement:

“Our top priority is to ensure that justice is served and that such a tragedy never happens again. The Department of Justice is right to conduct an independent investigation into this shooting, which has rightly raised alarm in the community. My thoughts and prayers are with the family of John Crawford III."
