WASHINGTON, D.C. – Following release of the text of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown today issued the following statement.

“For too long, our trade policy has amounted to a handout for corporate CEOs and a sellout for workers. Our trade policy should make it easier to sell American-made products around the world, while requiring our trading partners to follow the same labor and environmental standards that we do from day one.

“This trade deal has been negotiated in secret – with the press and the public shut out of the process. Now that the text has been released, we need a thorough examination of the deal and its effect on American jobs and American workers.”
