WASHINGTON, D.C. –U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) issued the following statement in response to the attack this morning on a synagogue in Jerusalem where four men were killed, including three dual U.S.-Israeli citizens:

“I condemn the attack of worshipers in any house of faith and am particularly saddened by the brutality of the attack on the Israelis praying in Jerusalem today. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who were injured and the families of those who were killed.”

Brown is a cosponsor of the U.S.-Israel Strategic Partnership Act of 2014 which would facilitate an increase in U.S.-Israeli cooperation on defense and would reiterate U.S. support for a peaceful negotiated political settlement between the Israelis and Palestinians.
