MANSFIELD, Ohio – Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) toured Jones’ Potato Chip Company in Mansfield and met workers at the facility. Jones’ Potato Chip Company has produced family-made chips and snacks in Ohio since 1945.

“When family-owned manufacturers root their businesses in Ohio and stay here, it strengthens our economy and our workforce,” said Brown. “Jones’ Potato Chip Company has supported jobs in our state for seven decades and I’m working to make sure our manufacturing policies support local businesses like Jones’.”

Brown has been a strong supporter of American manufacturing. Brown authored the Revitalizing American Manufacturing and Innovation (RAMI) Act, which was signed into law in December 2014. The bill created a National Network of Manufacturing Innovation made up of advanced manufacturing hubs to bring together industry, universities and community colleges, federal agencies, and all levels of government to leverage resources and spur innovation. Brown’s office also hosts a series of Manufacturing Camps each summer to get a new generation of Ohioans interested in manufacturing jobs.
