TOLEDO, OH —Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) visited the Magna TEAM Systems plant in Toledo to tour the facility. Magna produces automotive parts for auto producers around the world, including for the Jeep Wrangler made in Toledo.
“The work done at Magna TEAM Systems is another example of the skill and innovation of Ohio workers,” said Brown. “Seeing the hard work and commitment of these workers underscores the importance of supporting the northwest Ohio auto industry and the jobs it creates for the local economy.”
Brown is a strong supporter of the American auto industry and a longtime advocate for keeping Jeep Wrangler production in Toledo. In October 2014, Brown joined workers, local leaders, and community members at United Auto Workers (UAW) Local 12 to launch a community effort to keep the Jeep Wrangler made in Toledo. That same month, Brown wrote to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO Sergio Marchionne in support of Toledo workers. In September 2015, leadership at Fiat Chrysler announced their decision to keep Wrangler production in Toledo and begin production on a Jeep Wrangler pickup truck in the future.
