WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today welcomed news that Columbus is among the top 20 finalists for a proposed second Amazon headquarters, citing the strength of Ohio workers and the innovative transportation initiatives supported by Smart Columbus.
“I have no doubt Ohio’s world-class workforce had everything to do with Columbus being named a finalist for Amazon’s headquarters,” said Brown. “We also know Columbus is leading the way in transportation technology, having been selected by the U.S. Department of Transportation as America’s first ‘Smart City’ in 2016 and recently launching central Ohio’s first bus rapid transit line this month. This potential investment by Amazon in our state capital speaks to the fact that Columbus is a great place to do business.”
Brown joined the Ohio delegation in a letter to Amazon urging the company to consider Ohio cities for its second headquarters.
