Brown Urges DeWine to Veto ‘Heartbeat Bill’ As Politicians in Columbus Continue Attack on Women’s Healthcare

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) released the following statement urging Gov. Mike DeWine to veto the so-called ‘heartbeat bill’ passed by the Ohio legislature. The bill is one of the most restrictive bills in the country when it comes to limiting the ability of women to make their own healthcare decisions.

“Healthcare decisions should be made between women and their doctors, not Republican legislators,” said Brown. “Gov. DeWine should veto this measure immediately and lawmakers in Columbus should stop the unrelenting attacks on women’s healthcare. There’s too much at stake for the Ohio legislature to be playing politics.”
