WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) issued the following statement applauding the bipartisan Senate agreement to extend middle class tax cuts and unemployment insurance:
“Today, Democrats and Republicans worked together to extend payroll tax cuts for middle class Americans. With this bipartisan compromise, Congress took an important step to strengthen America’s economy.
“This agreement allows Ohio workers to take home more of their pay, but we must continue to work alongside the private sector to create jobs and keep our economy moving forward. The next step is to stop China from stealing U.S. manufacturing jobs. The House of Representatives must pass our bipartisan legislation that stands up for American manufacturing jobs when China cheats by manipulating its currency.”
