OBERLIN, OH – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today attended the ribbon cutting of the new NASA Central Operation of Resources for Educators (CORE) facility, the worldwide distribution center for NASA-produced multimedia materials located at the Lorain County Joint Vocational School (JVS).

“The renovation of the Avery Farmhouse is a testament to JVS students’ skill and innovation, and the school’s commitment to the Lorain County community,” Brown said. “The Lorain County JVS is equipping its students with the skills they need to fill good-paying Ohio jobs in a range of industries, from manufacturing to clean energy.”

Students at the Lorain County JVS renovated a 107-year-old property on campus, known as the Avery Farmhouse, to house the new CORE center. The building was retrofitted with recycled building materials, and clean energy sources will be used to provide electricity to the facility.
