WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced $185,116 in federal funding for James A. Rhodes Airport to acquire land for airport improvement program development. The Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the funding.

“Support for community airports is key to the safety of travelers and the flow of commerce,” said Brown. “This award will give Jackson County the resources to make needed improvements that will benefit those that rely on the local airport and its services.”

The $185,116 award will fund the acquisition of 7.3 acres of land adjacent to the existing airport property for future airport improvement program development.
