WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown today announced $148,500 in federal funding for Marion Municipal Airport to make improvements that will help increase efficiency and safety. The Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the funding.

“Support for community airports is key to the safety of travelers and the flow of commerce,” said Brown. “This award will give Marion County the resources to make needed improvements that will benefit those that rely on the local airport and its services.”

The $147,500 award will fund a wildlife hazard assessment to assess local species and their movement and activities, and will fund the rehabilitation of the airport’s access road.
