WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced $250,000 in federal funding for the Tri-County Water and Sewer District to update and extend water service to underserved areas by installing 113,620 linear feet of new waterline at 17 sites across Morgan, Noble, and Washington Counties.

“Proper water management is critical to the infrastructure of Ohio communities,” Brown said. “This funding will help improve service for rural customers and improve water quality in Morgan, Noble, and Washington Counties.”

The $250,000 grant was awarded by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC). The funding will help businesses and residents of Morgan, Noble, and Washington Counties eliminate the wide use of wells, springs and cisterns in order to increase reliability and cleanliness of water sources. Extending the new waterline will benefit residents by bringing water service to 79 households and three businesses in the area.
