WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown today announced that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will award a $32 million loan guarantee for the construction of a new office tower in the Flats district of Cleveland. Brown repeatedly urged HUD to approve the loan guarantee for the new office tower, which will house more than 1,000 employees of the accounting firm Ernst and Young, as well as hotel, retail, and restaurant space.

“This news will keep over a thousand good-paying jobs in Cleveland and create hundreds more construction jobs,” Brown said. “The Flats East Bank Development is just the latest sign that our state is ripe for business development, and this project signals a major turning point for the revitalization of downtown Cleveland.”
