Sen. Brown Announces More Than $150K To Improve Infrastructure and Safety at Union County Airport

Funds Will Be Used to Improve Stormwater Drainage, Rehabilitate the Taxiway, and Repair Cracks in Airport Apron

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that $150,756 was awarded to the Union County Airport Authority & Union County Board of Commerce to repair stormwater runoff drainage, rehabilitate the taxiway, and maintain the structural integrity of the airport apron. The U.S. Department of Transportation funds were awarded by the Federal Aviation Administration.

“Ohio businesses, visitors, and even military transport systems depend on safe and efficient operations at Union County Airport,” Brown said. “This funding will ensure that flights departing from and arriving to Marysville do so on a safe, well-lit runway.”

Union County Airport, located near Marysville, serves an average of 87 aircraft daily.
