WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that new federal resources have been awarded to the Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland. The grant, worth more than $20 million, was awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to improve to its runway safety.
“Burke Lakefront Airport is vital to Northeast Ohio’s economy,” Brown said. “These funds will ensure that the airport is as safe as possible so that is can continue to create local jobs and help countless Ohioans work and travel each year.”
Burke Lakefront Airport is the official reliever airport for Cleveland Hopkins International.
