WASHINGTON, DC –U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced today that Family Healthcare, Inc., a group of medical centers dedicated to providing quality, affordable healthcare without discrimination, received new resources from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to support and develop primary care health services. Family Healthcare, Inc. serves Athens, Hocking, Meigs, Perry, Ross, and Vinton Counties.

“Community health centers play a vital role in helping Ohioans obtain access to primary and preventive health care services,” said Brown.  “These new federal resources will help Family Healthcare, Inc. provide affordable and accessible health care to more of southeast Ohio’s children, seniors, and parents.”

Allocated through the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Health Center Cluster program, the grant will provide $1,432,725 to the organization.
