WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport has been awarded $421,875 by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to purchase 75 Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) transmitters. Airport ground vehicles use ADS-B units to broadcast their location, preventing conflicts between the vehicles and aircraft.
“This is great news for Cleveland,” Brown said. “These improvements will enhance safety and safety at that Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport. These federal dollars will go a long way in sustaining travel in and out of the airport for area residents and businesses.”
