WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced $44,110 in federal resources for Miami University Airport to make improvements that will help increase efficiency and safety. The Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the funding.

“Support for community airports is key to the safety of travelers and the flow of commerce,” said Brown. “This award will provide the resources to make needed improvements that will protect wildlife and benefit those that rely on the local airport and its services.”

The $44,110 award will fund a wildlife hazard assessment and the rehabilitation of 8,095 square yards of the existing apron.
