WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced $470,198 in federal resources for Clinton Field Airport in Wilmington to make improvements that will help increase efficiency and safety. The Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the funding.
“Support for community airports is key to the safety of travelers and the flow of commerce,” said Brown. “This award will give Clinton County the resources to make needed improvements that will benefit those that rely on the local airport and its services.”
The $470,198 award will fund the replacement of the rotating beacon, the rehabilitation of 6,910 square yards of the general aviation apron, and approximately 3,549 feet of Runway 03/21.
