WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that $789,895 in fiscal year 2010 funds have been awarded to the Lancaster Fire Department by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) program.

“Our first responders put their lives on the line every day across Ohio,” Brown said. “These funds ensure that residents of Lancaster have the firefighters needed to keep their communities safe.”

This is round twenty-two of the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Grant Programs Directorate in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration.
