Sen. Brown Announces New Federal Resources to Improve Safety at Carroll County Airport

Funds Will Be Used to Improve Drainage, Runway Safety Area

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Carroll County-Tolson Airport will undergo renovations thanks to new federal resources. U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that new federal resources were awarded to improve safety at the Carroll County-Tolson Airport in Carrollton. The U.S. Department of Transportation funds, administered by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), will be used to better manage storm water runoff, and improve the runway safety area to meet FAA design standards.

“Ohio businesses and visitors depend on safe and efficient operations at the Carroll County-Tolson Airport,” Brown said. “This funding will ensure safety for flights departing from and arriving to Carrollton.”

The Carroll County Commissioners and Carroll County Airport Authority will receive $637,053 to make these improvements.

The Carroll County-Tolson Airport, located in Carrollton, is publicly owned and serves approximately 96 flights daily.
